Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Shark WebAuthn demonstration portal ("Portal") at https://shark-fido2.com/. By accessing or using the Portal you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Portal.

1. Description of the Portal

The Portal is a non-commercial, publicly accessible demonstration environment for the Shark WebAuthn library for .NET. It allows developers and interested parties to test passkey (WebAuthn/FIDO2) creation and authentication flows. The Portal is provided free of charge, without registration, and without any commitment to ongoing availability.

2. Acceptance and Eligibility

By using the Portal you represent that you are at least 16 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Use of the Portal from jurisdictions where such use is prohibited by local law is not authorised.

3. Demonstration Purpose Only

The Portal is provided solely for demonstration and educational purposes. It must not be used:

  • As a production authentication service
  • To store, transmit, or process real personal data or real credentials
  • As a component of any live application, product, or service
  • As evidence of security compliance or certification

All passkey data created through the Portal is temporary and will be irrevocably deleted within 24 hours. You must not rely on the Portal to preserve any data.

4. User-Submitted Data

The Portal prompts you to enter a Username and a Display Name when creating a passkey. These values may be any string; they are not validated and do not need to correspond to any real identity. You acknowledge that:

  • Any data you enter is processed solely for demonstration purposes
  • You should not submit real names, email addresses, passwords, or any sensitive personal information
  • Submitted demonstration data is stored in volatile server memory and deleted within 24 hours

5. No Account, No Authentication

The Portal does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or authenticate through any external provider. There is no user registration system and no persistent user profile.

6. Analytics

The Portal uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. By using the Portal you acknowledge this collection. You may opt out as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, documentation, and content on the Portal, including the Shark WebAuthn library, are the property of the respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any licence to the underlying library beyond what is stated in the library's own licence.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Portal or its server-side components
  • Submit malicious, offensive, or unlawful content as a username or display name
  • Use automated tools or scripts to interact with the Portal in a manner that disrupts its operation
  • Attempt to access, extract, or interfere with data belonging to other demonstration sessions
  • Use the Portal for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Portal may link to third-party websites or documentation. The operator is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. Inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.

13. Availability and Modifications

The operator reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Portal or any part of it at any time and without notice. The operator may update these Terms at any time; the revised Terms will take effect upon posting. Continued use of the Portal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
